| A few yards below the entrance to Fisherbeck is a footpath that goes towards Ruskin's house "Brantwood" with spectacular views across the lake. Walk a little further down the lane and you come to Monk Coniston pier from which you can catch the Coniston Launch and sail to Brantwood and beyond. Alternatively just sit on one of the benches at this wonderful viewpoint. A forty minute walk in the other direction brings you to Tarn Hows and numerous footpaths including the path around the tarn. | |||||||||
