Ellwood House - looking South from the garden
The garden and patio, with views east over countryside and south to the high fells, are ideal for barbecues. The tranquillity of this setting broken only by the sound of Gill Beck running below.

Looking south from the garden to the 2,200' summit of High Pike, just over an hour's walk away.

"...We would certainly recommend Ellwood House to our friends"

The timeless character of Caldbeck village has been preserved, being a conservation area where ponies and sheep roam freely. Home of John Peel, the village is popular but never overcrowded. There is excellent local amenity; a village store, craft centre together with a pub and cafe serving excellent meals and teas.

Caldbeck even has it's own cricket and bowls club and bookable tennis courts. Staying close to home is sometimes a conveniently pleasant alternative to walking the fells!

Everything is no more than 10 minutes walk away.
